Marine Growth Prevention & Control

Representing our partners IEV, GCE are delighted to offer Marine Growth Prevention (MGP) & Control technology, a maintenance free solution to removing and preventing marine growth on offshore structures. 


The technology focuses on breaking down the marine growth colonisation process by preventing the formation of microbial slime, the first colonisers. This is achieved by harnessing the endless ocean energy, from waves, swells, currents and tidal fluctuation to power the continuous rolling motions of specially designed MGPs.

  • Reduction in base shear, overturning moment and axial load
  • Reduction in Probability of Failure (PoF)
  • Improvement in fatigue life and reserved strength ratio
  • Extension in platform inspection interval

For use in Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind projects. MGP can be installed on a structure prior to installation offshore, or on existing assets typically by technicians working on scaffolding or by rope access and dropped down to sea level where it starts working immediately.
